This is an experiential tour where you can enjoy local culture and food while walking through the historic “Jinaicho ” that remains in Kaizuka, Osaka.
Kaizuka Jinaicho is a historic townscape that remains in Kaizuka City, Osaka Prefecture. “Jinaicho” developed around the Jodo Shinshu faith during the Sengoku period, and once flourished as an autonomous religious city.
Even now, registered tangible cultural properties and temples that are important cultural properties remain, and you can enjoy walking around the city in an old-fashioned atmosphere. It is a place where you can experience the unknown history and culture of Osaka while visiting historic buildings and narrow alleys, starting with the central Gansenji Temple.
An interpreter guide will explain such history in detail.
While walking around the historic town of Kaizuka Jinaicho, you can enjoy freshly fried croquettes that have been loved by the local community for a long time, and enjoy the fresh appeal of Kaizuka's famous water eggplant by comparing lightly pickled and raw. Furthermore, at Yogenji Temple, you can enjoy Kaizuka's famous confectionery “Murasame” and matcha while looking at a beautiful Japanese garden, and spend a moment experiencing Kaizuka's history and food culture with all five senses.
It is a walking tour of about 2 hours 30 minutes where you can enjoy not only the history, but also the lifestyle and food culture that lives in the region with all five senses, with explanations from an English guide.

Nankai Electric Railway “Kaizuka Station”
Meet an English-speaking guide at “Machino-eki Kaizuka.”
■Start walking around Jinaicho
The guide will introduce the history of Kaizuka-Jinaicho.
■Sonkoji Temple
Visit Kaizukaibuki, a tree in Kaizuka City that is 300 to 400 years old.
■Gansenji Temple
Visit the important cultural property “Gansenji,” which is the central temple of Kaizuka-Jinaicho.
I will introduce the history and appeal of temples with explanations using tablet images.
■Tsujiyoshi
Visit a popular local croquette shop and sample freshly fried croquettes.
■Traditional Machiya Townhouses in Jinaicho
In addition to the historic townhouse of a shipping merchant from the Edo period, visit townhouses built from the latter half of the 18th century to the 19th century
■Tsukemono Kihachi
Eat and compare lightly pickled water eggplants with raw water eggplants, and the guide will introduce the history and characteristics of mizu eggplants.
We will also introduce ways to eat raw mizu eggplant in an arrangement
■Yogenji Temple
We will take a relaxing break while looking at the Japanese garden with sweets such as “Murasame” from Kaizuka's famous confectionery Shiogo and matcha.
■Dissolution
The tour ends at Kaizuka Station.
